What Do I do for Living??

Imagine it’s your first day at work; your big B calls u in in his office and asks u to assist him to an upscale restaurant.

Now, what’s your first reaction??? Its only 11 in the morning … so are we going there for breakfast? Or for an early lunch? (Yes!! Ur mind is only thinking about what u will get to eat).

So!! You go there, the place is empty, and the ambience is pretty good. And right when u are thinking of asking for menu ….. Your boss looks at u and asks u “what do you think about this place?? Do you think you can some how manage to accommodate 125 people in it?? And if yes, then how??” Then he asks the restaurant manager to bring in his top 5 drinks, and you get to taste all of them. You get to decide which ones you liked the most and that drink is used for the event. (BTW, I picked; Cherry Sky, Mint Lemonade and Mango Smoothie)

Basically, this is what I do!! I’m placed at an event management company as a trainee manager for 3 mths. Our company organizes events such as, conferences, concerts, fashion shows, corporate dinners etc … My job is to come up with creative ideas with low costs and find the best possible way to build the brand.

I will have many days with absolute nothing to do and few days will just drive me crazy. Hmmmm …. This reminds me of a quotation we had at campus security:

“Hours and hours of boredom, punctuated with few moments of stark terror”

Today I’m attending my first event; at The Elbow Room (yea, where I decided the drinks) we will have dinner, and after that a game of tambola.

Wish me luck ..
