There is a knock at the door of my soul,
I create noises around me to let it die,
But nothing helps,
No! I will not answer you,
Please go away,
I know I know its you conscience,
I know why you are here.
I have always been good,
I have always tried to do things the right way,
But what happened?
I was left alone, I was kicked and pushed.
No! Stop it! Not this time,
I won’t let you take me on a guilt ride,
What I did was out of good will,
I meant no harm,
You were there, weren’t you?
YES! I know, I could have stopped there and then,
YES! I know I had the control ….
Why are you only accusing me??
What about others? When they did things wrong?
Ah!! What am I saying?
What can you do about them?
So I bow my head and unlock the door,
And let my conscience enter my soul,
Hence this poem is a form of an apology,
For not being honest and for hurting you.
I hope … no!! I pray that life gives me another chance to prove you,
To prove you how much I care,
To prove you that I can be much more than what I have become,
I pray that I can live a day in life,
Where I don’t feel guilty,
Where everyday is beautiful and pure,
Where life tells me, ITS OVER, you have been forgiven.
I create noises around me to let it die,
But nothing helps,
No! I will not answer you,
Please go away,
I know I know its you conscience,
I know why you are here.
